Summer Open House provides the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore the campus and learn about SUNY Plattsburgh academics and student life.
“Summer is a beautiful time to visit Plattsburgh,” said Carrie Woodward, the college’s director of admissions.
Open House will run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Open House events include a student services fair, Admissions presentation, student panel and campus tours.
Campus tours are provided by the student staff of new student orientation, which coincides with Open House.
“We’ll also have many faculty and staff on hand to answer questions about academic programs, housing, financial aid and other aspects of life at Plattsburgh,” Woodward said.
Brandon McFarland, who attended a previous Open House, said seeing everything he had read about the college in person helped him envision what it would be like to be a student at Plattsburgh.
“I got more insight rather than just reading it in a pamphlet,” McFarland said.
Plattsburgh and the surrounding region is host to many recreational and cultural activities in the summer season.
“Families who come to Summer Open House often turn the trip into a mini-vacation and combine their visit to campus with camping in the Adirondacks, boating on Lake Champlain, or seeing the sights in Montreal,” Woodward said.
