Residence Halls (a.k.a. "Dorms")

When not in the classroom, doing research in the library, or eating in one of the dining facilities, chances are you will be spending most of your time in your residence hall room.

SUNY Plattsburgh offers 12 residence halls. Each building provides laundry facilities, kitchenettes, study lounges, and recreational lounges. We offer specialized housing for first-year students, those who choose a substance-free lifestyle or quiet floors, as well as halls dedicated to upper class students. All buildings are co-ed. All rooms come with beds, dressers, desks, closets, phone access with a calling plan, wireless network access, two Ethernet connections for computers, and a cable jack for an extensive line-up of TV stations.

Each hall is run by student resident assistants and a residence director. Each of the buildings have hall councils who plan activities for residents. In addition, some have computer labs and tutoring sessions offered in the building.
