ADX 'Round the Island Race
Date: July 19, 2008
Lake Champlain Sea Kayak Institute, the sixth 'Round-the-Island Race' will be held for kayakers of all skill levels. This seven-mile citizen's race is an opportunity to enjoy the recreational company of other paddlers, to circum-paddle Valcour Island, have mountain views of New York and Vermont, and take home some great prizes from one of our sponsors.
Challenge Yourself and Meet New Friends
Citizen's races are what you make of them.
If the physical and technical challenge of a seven-mile kayak race makes you think of training, hydration systems, and power bars, then you'll be there to win.
On the other hand, if your idea of paddling is the company of others, you'll be there to enjoy the social experience. And there's all that comes from watching other paddlers, noticing the changing views, and just having fun!
Of course, if you're fast enough or old enough or young enough or slow enough, you could be in for a prize already donated by our sponsors.
All participants receive a race t-shirt.
Come Early
The gun for the race goes off at 9:00 a.m. The starting line forms at Valcour Island, so we suggest you arrive early and plan accordingly. Parking is available at Valcour Educational Center. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
Cost: There is a $10 entrance fee for this event.
