Lake Champlain Sea Kayak Institute Summer 2009 Schedule of Events

Level I - Four-Day Sea Kayaking Class: July 20-23

Four Days of Instruction and Touring (Level 1)

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily
Cost: non-credit option is $600; 2-credit option is $673.10 for in-state residents. Out of state residents wishing to take the course for 2 credits should call for costs.

Level I is for new paddlers or those with limited technical knowledge. This course has it all! Wet and dry entries and exits; self and assisted rescues, sweeps, draws, and rudder strokes; rolling-these and more are part of this four-day class. If that isn't enough, there are daily trips on Lake Champlain's beaches, islands, and bays.

Level II - Four and a Half Day Sea Kayaking Class: July 13-17

Four and a Half Days of Instruction and Touring (Level 2)

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily (Jukly 13 arrival 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.)
Cost: $600 (plus evening sessions)

Level II is specifically designed for alumnae of our standard 4-day program or those with considerable technical knowledge or experience.

This four and a half day "residency program" answers the question, "How do I do it better?"  Join the staff for daily paddles and instruction on "The Lake" and evening training and events at our Twin Valleys base camp.  Level II "residency" is at SUNY Plattsburgh's Twin Valleys educational center.

Registration packets include directions and additional information regarding the twin valley residency options.
