Concentration in Drawing
Develop Your Personal Imagery with Advanced Techniques
Drawing at Plattsburgh State functions both as part of the foundation program and as a sequence of courses and independent studies on an advanced level. In introductory courses, students work from still lifes and models, developing perceptual and conceptual drawing skills and a sensitivity to various media. The intermediate student works primarily from the model, exploring a wide range of formal and expressive issues and an expanded range of drawing materials. Under the guidance of caring faculty, the advanced students work more independently, developing their personal imagery, while expanding their knowledge of contemporary aesthetic issues.
Drawing Facilities
The Department has both beginning and advanced drawing studios, fully equipped with drawing equipment and a wide array of props and set-up materials. Two art faculty teach drawing.
