National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association
About Our Organization
Our student organization, the local chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA), has many on-going projects. Last year Plattsburgh State's NSSLHA collected over a thousand books to give to local organizations that serve children and adults. NSSLHA is currently involved in the recruitment of volunteers to help norm a soon-to-be-published test of learning and memory. These volunteers take the test in order to provided normative information on the test, and graduate students who give the test get valuable clinical experience in test administration. Other NSSLHA activities include fundraising for an augmentative communication device, volunteering for "study buddy" programs in the community, volunteering at a local nursing home, and lots of fun social events.
