TV Studio A & Studio A Control Room

TV Studio A emulates a real-world broadcast facility and is the smaller of our two studios at 550 square feet. It is a fully professional broadcast facility designed to prepare production majors (TV-Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, and Audio-Radio Production) for a seamless transition from college to the broadcast industry.
You will use Studio A to for workshop training and to produce news, sports, interview and dramatic shows that are associated with several classes. These include Plattsburgh State Television (CMM233/433), Basic Planning/Production of TV (CMM229), On-Camera Performance (CMM334), TV Field Acting/Production (CMM429), and Advanced TV News Production (CMM459).
The complete facility (both studio and control room) includes:
- Microphone hook-ups
- Lights and a full lighting grid
- Professional custom-built news set (donated by Hearst-Argyle Broadcast Corporation)
- Audio board
- Video switcher
- Chroma key ("green screen")
- Compix Media graphics/character generator
- Dedicated graphics workstations
- Computerized teleprompters
- Three professional Ikegami high performance video cameras (with CCU's)
- Record and playback devices
- Phone couplers (for incoming callers)
- Two audio workstations (for pre-produced audio sources)
- Network master control access
- Four-camera hookup availability
