Contrary to popular opinion, not all school administrators are principals. In fact, there are a wide variety of other leadership positions available within New York State school districts.
In many cases, there is a distinct correlation between district size and whether or not administrative certification is expected. Some examples of positions requiring administrative certification are:
- Curriculum Coordinator
- Building Lead Teacher
- Athletic Director
- Dean
- Assistant Principal
- House Principal
- Principal
