Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Faculty - John Parmelee
Lecturer
Mr. Parmelee grew up in Ithaca, New York, where he also earned his B.S. degree from the Cornell Hotel School at Cornell University. He then continued his education at Elmira College, where he earned his M.S. degree in Adult Education. Before coming to SUNY Plattsburgh, Mr. Parmelee was the general manager of Copperfield Inn, North Creek, New York. Prior to that he owned and managed a three hundred seat restaurant in Ithaca, New York. Additionally, he was the Assistant Director of Operations of a three hundred room resort in Aruba.
In his spare time, Mr. Parmelee enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his children, participating in outdoor activities, and traveling. Currently, Mr. Parmelee teaches Hospitality Financial Management, and the lecture portions of both restaurant operations classes, as well as assisting Ms. Emery with the restaurant operations labs in Samuel D's.
