Associate Professor of Journalism & All Points North Advisor
She has published more than 100 articles in such national magazines as Discover, Sierra, Audubon, Popular Science, National Wildlife,
New Scientist, as well as a variety of health newsletters and newspapers. She has written about everything from acupuncture and remote control surgery to environmentally friendly Christmas trees and lynx in New England. Her reporting has taken her from Midway Atoll to the the North Slope of Alaska. In May 2003, Gretel H. Schueller was acknowledged for professional excellence by the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation. Her feature story "Will Navy's New Sonar System Drown Out the Songs of Whales?" appeared in the August 2002 issue of Environment Hawaii, and received second place for "Best Investigative Reporting" at the Foundation's 23rd Annual Journalism Awards. She has been teaching at Plattsburgh since 2001.
