M.S. in Leadership Program (36 credits)
The Leadership Program includes a core of required courses with learning experiences focused on the individual as leader, high performance competencies for individuals in team-oriented organizational cultures, and organizational development and change. Students have a choice of three minor areas of study that support career paths in non-profit organizations, finance, and general management.
The Leadership Program culminates with a thesis or professional project that demonstrates the student's skill and knowledge, integrating professional and academic competence in the field of organizational leadership.
Minor Concentrations
To enhance your ability to pursue a career path, the following minor concentrations have been designed to focus study on specific skill sets and knowledge in three areas:
- Leadership Policy and Processes: This is the minor of choice for those looking at careers in public service or non-profit organizations and is also an excellent choice for aspiring executives in the corporate, for-profit environment as well.
- Leadership Tools: If you are seeking a generalist position in which you will be dealing with day-to-day operations of a small to mid-size business or start-up company, this minor provides you with the essentials for running a successful business.
- Fiduciary Leadership: If your aspiration is to become a chief financial officer in any type of organization, this minor provides the legal fundamentals and practical tools for dealing with financial planning and fiscal operations in organizations of any size and complexity. The Fiduciary Leadership minor requires an undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent accounting background.
