Learning Center Staff
Nichole Bennett-Bealer, Assistant Director and Writing Specialist
Nichole joined the Learning Center Staff in the summer of 2007. Although she is a recent addition to the Learning Center staff, she already knows she is part of a wonderful team. Both her professional and student co-workers have continually demonstrated a devotion to their work and a commitment to the Plattsburgh State community.
Working with students - both tutors and tutees - in the Learning Center environment allows Nichole to do what she does best: problem solve with students to find the best method of attaining academic success. Trained in both nondirective writing tutoring and Supplemental Instruction strategies, Nichole sees tutoring as an opportunity to engage in an academic conversation.
Everybody needs help in something. So we asked our professional staff to include what courses they would be tutored in.
"If I had to do it all over again, I would seek tutoring in Chemistry. I still cannot wrap my head around valance shells. I understand the concept but always end up with the wrong elements sharing electrons or too many electrons left over at the end."
