At a presentation by Andrew Wiles at the University of Vermont, Math majors Alaina Reinwald and John Rion (2004) got to meet and talk with Wiles. Wiles is the mathematician who in the 1990's proved Fermat's last theorem, thereby solving a 300 year old problem. |

The Math Jeopardy Crew Presentation at Union College
Math majors Megan Paddack, Kristen Carmichael, Carrie Ludwig and Rachel Kowalowski, after their "Math jeopardy" presentation at the Hudson River Undergraduate Math Conference at Union College, Schenectady, Spring 2003. Their presentation was so popular that the room was filled to overflowing. Despite the pressure of speaking to such a large crowd, they did an excellent job and Math Jeopardy was very enthusiastically received by the audience. |
