This 50-seat “smart” classroom in Myers 112 is designed for music and art instruction and also provides small ensemble rehearsal space. The classroom includes:
Audio and visual services, available whenever Feinberg is open, include 32 audio listening stations and six video viewing stations.
Approximately 2766 audio recordings in LP record or compact disc format circulate to students. Feinberg houses about 3400 music-related books and serials, and approximately 2873 music scores.
Electronic access to 31 music periodicals is available at all net-worked computer stations on campus through the JSTOR database.
Applied faculty teach in studios equipped with grand pianos (six), upright pianos (six), and audio playback systems.
Through electronic card-key, students in applied study have 24/7 access to 13 clean, comfortable, soundproofed practice rooms. Eight rooms are furnished with upright pianos and five with grand pianos.
Doubling as a student performing and rehearsing space, Myers 300 is used for performance classes, auditions, and large ensemble rehearsals. The room seats 95 and features a Baldwin grand piano.
This secondary rehearsal area seats 75 and houses a Baldwin grand piano and a Baldwin organ.
The dance and theatre studio has padded flooring, full-length mirrors, ballet barre for movement and eurhythmics sessions, piano, and portable audio equipment.
The music department has an inventory of approximately 50 wind and string instruments available on short-term loan for a nominal fee for students participating in college ensembles.
Lockers in a secure area are available to students participating in college ensembles free of charge.
