Minor in Ethics and Social Philosophy
Ethics and Social Philosophy Minor (21 credits)
This 21 credit program (7 courses) requires one introductory course (PHI 102 Introduction to Philosophy, PHI 210 History of Western Philosophy to 1500, or PHI 211 History of Western Philosophy from 1500), one logic course (typically PHI 213 Symbolic Logic), and PHI 104 Moral Problems. To complete the minor, students choose one course in either ethical or political theory, two courses in applied ethics, and either PHI 419 Topics in Philosophical Ethics or PHI 444 Philosophy and Culture. Students will select these courses in consultation with an advisor.
Many students find this minor to be a valuable complement to their major in business, education, science, or one of the other liberal arts.
