Political Science Faculty - Dr. G. Olivia O'Donnell
Professor
Dr. O'Donnell received her Ph.D. from Cornell University, where she specialized in American Politics and Public Policy. In addition to teaching political science, she takes an active role in the Women's Studies Program
and its affiliated Women's Studies Forum of regular on-campus discussions.
Dr. O'Donnell teaches the introductory U.S. Politics course as well as Public Policy and Administration. Her seminar on Domestic Policy is one of the "capstone" courses political science majors may take to meet their requirements.
Dr. O'Donnell's research focuses mainly on American politics with an emphasis on public opinion, parties, and interest groups.
Gender Politics, another of Professor O'Donnell's courses, is also part of the Women's Studies curriculum. Dr. O'Donnell received the Phi Eta Sigma Distinguished Faculty Award in 1999 and the Student Association President's Special Award in 2000.
