Social Work Faculty - Lynne Soine, DSW, MSW
Chairperson
Dr. Soine, Chairperson of the Social Work Department, earned a Master's of Social Work degree from the School of Social Welfare at the University at Stony Brook and a doctoral degree from the Hunter College of Social Work. She is a licensed social worker in New York State and teaches courses in generalist practice, social service agencies, social policy and cultural and ethnic diversity. Prior to joining the faculty at Plattsburgh in 1994, Dr. Soine was a faculty member of the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook for more than 10 years, teaching in both the B.S.W. and M.S.W. programs. Dr. Soine has been involved in continuing education programs for public social services staff for 30 years. Her interests included homelessness, environmental health, and community mental health. She sits on the Board of Directors of Evergreen Townhouse Communities and is the Chairperson of the Clinton County Community Services Board.
