Social Work Faculty - Margaretha Wilcke, Ph.D., ACSW
Associate Professor
Dr. Margaretha Wilcke earned a Master's in Social Work degree from Adelphi university and a doctoral degree from the University of Calgary, Canada. A native of South Africa, Dr. Wilcke teaches courses in comparative social welfare, human behavior, generalist practice, and the field practicum component of the program. Prior to joining the faculty at Plattsburgh State in 2000, Dr. Wilcke was a member of the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. She had 12 years of clinical social work experience in mental health. Dr. Wilcke's interests include international social work, comparative social welfare, refugee issues, trauma and resiliency, gerontology and student field education.
