Social Work Faculty - Vanessa Young, MSW, LCSW
Adjunct Lecturer
Ms. Vanessa Young obtained a Master's in Social Work degree from the University of Sussex, England. Prior to moving to New York in 1986, Ms. Young spent six years as a forensic social worker in Southeast England, working with mentally ill offenders.
Serving as a half-time faculty member at Plattsburgh State since 1998, Ms. Young works in the field practicum component of the Social Work Department, teaches courses in social work and mental health, and maintains an active practice role in the community. She is a member of the Clinton County Health Department's Professional Advisory Committee and sits on the board of the Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country, Inc. In addition, Vanessa participates in the National Association of Social Workers as well as the National Alliance on Mental Illness: Champlain Valley Chapter.
