"Summer courses are great! For students looking to graduate early, take a class they might have missed during the normal semester, or just to save on the commute time, summer courses are the way to go! I especially liked the night courses - they work great for students who work full-time. A majority of my courses were taken as condensed summer courses."

Plattsburgh is much more fun in the summer than students think it is. Plus, the professors are more laid back and informal. "Summer Session was one of the best experiences I had at SUNY Plattsburgh. I needed credit in art so in Session B I took Intro to Acting with Kim Hartshorn. The class was terrific! We had a very small group so it was easy to form a community atmosphere. We learned to use improvisational skills and played some really cool improvisational games. During Session C, I had to retake Intro to Latin America because I failed it due to health problems during the semester. Oscar Flores taught the class and it was a wonderful learning experience. We learned from two texts and improved our presentation skills using PowerPoint. At the end of the summer, I had two A's and a much improved GPA! I will be attending again in Summer 08."

Take a Unique Course
"Taking a course during Summer Session was a great way to learn more about one of my favorite subjects - jazz! It was fun to meet students with different levels of interest in jazz and watch them open up to the music's rich history and sounds. The professor, Herm Matlock, was always available to help us whenever we were having difficulty or if we wanted to find more music to listen to outside the classroom. I encourage anyone who's considering a summer session course to take the opportunity and they'll be impressed with how much fun they'll have!"
