The New Tenant

Student directed by Anthony Gallucci
with Department of Theatre faculty
Laura-Jean Schwartau-Swanson and Ken Roberts

A gentleman rents a new apartment. On moving day, the furniture takes over the stage and quickly overwhelms the characters. Filled with silent comedy and intricate word play, this one-act helped inaugurate the Theatre of the Absurd.

There will be a talkback with the cast and crew after the show.

A one-woman play based on the life and work of the 19th century American poet, Emily Dickinson. Through her poems, diaries and letters, Dickinson shares stories about the people and events that shaped her secluded life.

We would like - if we may - to take you on a strange journey. Two clean cut kids, Brad Majors and his fiancée Janet Weiss, run into car trouble during a rainstorm and end up at a strange castle where Dr. Frank 'N' Furter is in the midst of his maniacal experiments. This world famous rock musical spoofs science fiction and tells a bizarre story of seduction and sexual confusion.

Tartuffe
Written by Molière
Directed by Dr. John Shout

Tartuffe is universally acknowledged to be one of a tiny handful of great comedies, and for a classic, it is very contemporary and hysterically funny. Tartuffe, a religious hypocrite, tries to get the title to his friend's estate by sending him to jail. So effective was Molière's satire, that the word tartuffe has become part of the English language. Newsday called it "a rollicking evening of grace and fun." Read more.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Guided by a "how-to" book, J. Pierpont Finch, a young, ambitious window washer, skyrockets up the corporate ladder at the "World-Wide Wicket Company."  How he gets there is just part of the non-stop fun. Winner of multiple Tony awards, this Broadway musical was a smash hit when it opened in 1961.

On a cold, clear Friday night in deepest winter, the northern lights surround Almost, Maine, and its residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unusual and unexpected ways. Knees are bruised, hearts are broken, and love is all around. Almost, Maine explores the mysteries of the human heart with what has been called an "enchanting midwinter night's dream."
