Theatre Faculty - Kim Hartshorn

Associate Professor

Professor Kim Hartshorn received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from the Michigan Technological University in 1979 and continued his education at Michigan State University where he received his M.F.A. in Theatrical Design and Lighting in 1982.

Mr. Hartshorn taught classes as an Assistant Professor of Theatre for West Virginia's Concord College from 1982 - 1985 and then moved to Pennsylvania to teach as Assistant Professor of Theatre for Allegheny College from 1985 - 1989. In the fall of 1989, he began teaching as Assistant Professor here at Plattsburgh State and is currently teaching Theatre Design and History, along with introductory Theatre classes, as an Associate Professor.

Mr. Hartshorn's favorite productions in which he has participated include Plattsburgh State's City of Angels, which he designed and directed, The Crane School of Music's Mikado, for which he designed the lighting, Pendragon Theatre Residency's Cabaret, for which he designed both sets and lights, and Plattsburgh State's recent production of Bus Stop, which he directed.

To prospective students, Mr. Hartshorn would like to express the openness of Plattsburgh State's Theatre program and the variety of opportunities to participate in the many different areas of Theatre.

His personal interests include photography, boats of different kinds, and music, specifically playing his guitar.
