What's New In Women's Studies?

Local Professor Joins Semester-At-Sea

Dr. Ellen Fitzpatrick, one of our Women's Studies Associates, is currently enjoying the fall semester at sea. This unique teaching and learning opportunity, as noted on their website, "offers programs in international education that incorporate direct contact with people and their cultures. These programs afford the opportunity to develop cross-cultural understandings of human commonalities and global interdependence, while simultaneously recognizing, defining and respecting individual potentials and cultural diversities."

For more information about this exciting program, visit their website at semesteratsea.com. At the time of printing, Dr. Fitzpatrick was wrapping up her first month having visited Japan, South Korea, and China, and was on her way to Vietnam. Only a short time into her "tour of service," other ports of call in the months ahead will be India, Portugal, Greece and Turkey.
