2. Original letter of acceptance/admission issued by SUNY Plattsburgh

7. Proof of ties to your home country (Please read 10 Points to remember when applying for an F-1 or J-1 visa)
After you are accepted, you have until the deadline stated on your acceptance letter to pay your $250 deposit. To do this, you will first need to locate your unique SUNY Plattsburgh NetID previously assigned to you.
Your personal NetID is based on a combination of your first and last name with a three-digit number at the end. (EXAMPLE: DMONT002) You will use this NetID very often during your time here, so please keep it within easy access.
If you need help locating your NetID at this time, please email our office to request assistance. When you are ready with your NetID and the password you have chosen, please follow the directions below:
1. Login to "My Plattsburgh" using your unique SUNY Plattsburgh NetID.
2. Once you are logged in successfully, click on the "Admissions" tab
3. The "Admissions Checklist" is found on the right side of the screen. Click the link marked "Pay Admissions Deposit" and follow the instructions to submit your deposit by credit card.
Once you have paid your deposit, you will need to sign up for housing. If you are interested in living on campus, you should submit the online housing application as soon as possible. (You may need to wait 24 hours after submitting your deposit in order for a housing application form to be available to you online). On campus student housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To see what your student room might look like, view a 360-degree Virtual Room Tour of some of our residence hall rooms. Please note that in order to accommodate all new students, it is sometimes necessary to house three students in a double room. This is called a "triple."
Residence halls (also referred to as "dormitories") open early for new international students during Orientation. Please check our Orientation and Residence Hall opening schedule for information about when your room will be ready for your arrival.
Read the information on our Travel to the U.S. page. You should arrive on campus no later than the Monday before classes begin for your first semester of enrollment. Please refer to the Academic Calendar to determine the correct date. If you have to arrive more than three days before international student orientation begins, you must stay at your own expense at one of the local hotels.
Download the International Health Form and fill it out. You will need the help of your physician to complete the form, so you might want to schedule an appointment now. Send the completed form and your current immunization records to the address at the bottom of the form prior to departing your home country.
As soon as your travel plans are confirmed, fill out the International Student Arrival Information Form. To find out how to get to Plattsburgh, refer to our Traveling to the U.S. page. We do not pick up students from New York City, Boston, or Montreal. We provide free transportation to campus between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. from the bus station, airport, and train terminals located in Plattsburgh. In addition, we provide van transportation from Burlington International Airport in Burlington, Vermont between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. for a fee. If your travel plans change after submitting the Arrival Information Form or during your travel day, call or email our office immediately.
You will receive your tuition bill by email before you leave home. Once you receive it, please review our Bill Payment web page for information about the options we offer you to pay your tuition and fees.
During Orientation you will learn about academic and immigration requirements, pay your bill, open a bank account, adjust your schedule, meet your advisor and much more.
Download the copy below. Whenever you complete a step, check it off. When you have checked off all the items on the list, you are ready for International Orientation. Note: this action requires Acrobat Reader, which is available as a free download.
