ISS Admissions Assistant
I assist the office with admissions decisions for first-year and transfer international students. I also provide information to prospective students about the admissions process and to current students about activities, academics, and college policies. Please contact me if you need anything.
Academic Credentials: B.S. Marketing, minor in Accounting, SUNY Plattsburgh
Personal Biography: I was raised in western New York in a small city called Lockport. During my undergraduate years at SUNY Plattsburgh, I spent a semester in Sydney, Australia for a study abroad experience. After graduation, I spent two years living in northern Japan teaching English to Elementary and Junior High School students. I love Plattsburgh ... the college, the community and the surrounding environment, so I was ecstatic to come back and work with international students!
Places I have visited: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia and Egypt. I love to travel and hope that I will have more overseas experiences in the future!
Favorite SUNY Plattsburgh activity: There are so many opportunities on campus; it's difficult to choose only one activity. I enjoy using the fitness center and taking interesting classes.
Favorite experience as an ISS staff member: Orientation and interacting with prospective students.
Best advice for prospective international students: Get involved! Join a club, experience the outdoors, do community service -- the possibilities are vast. Involving yourself will help you make friends quickly and make transitioning easier for you. Don't be shy or scared, try your best and jump right in!
