Hello! I am Lindsey Jakiel and I vividly remember what it was like to be a student searching for the right college. I currently work as an Admissions Advisor and coordinate the campus tour guides as well as special events. That means I help organize those smiling faces who will take you around our campus when you visit us.
I can help you see what SUNY Plattsburgh can offer you, and help you start on your own path as a successful Plattsburgh State student.

Professional/Personal Biography: I am a May 2005 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with two degrees, one in Speech Communication, and the other in a more unusual field - Canadian Studies. I decided to become a part of the admissions team here because Plattsburgh offered me so much as a student and I wanted to help other students see what Plattsburgh can do for them. Also, I truly have come to love New York's North Country and consider it my home now, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to become a staff member here.
Most Memorable College Experience: The life lessons I learned from and activities I participated in as a member of my sorority. From participating in fun activities like Fall Fiesta to taking action to stop violence against women by marching in Take Back the Night, the time I spent as a sorority woman holds some of the fondest memories of my Plattsburgh experience.
Favorite Plattsburgh State Activity: I love to attend the Hockey Games. Go Cards!
Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: Take advantage of every opportunity you can. Plattsburgh gave me so many opportunities as a student, and I know that I am a better person because of the variety of things that I have been involved in. My advice would be just to get as much as you possibly can out of your experience, because Plattsburgh has a lot to give.
