Transfer Credit Evaluation at SUNY Plattsburgh
CAPP Report
After acceptance, the Admissions Office at SUNY Plattsburgh will evaluate your transfer credits and provide you with a Curriculum Advising & Program Planning (CAPP) Report. This report details all courses awarded as transfer credit from prior institutions and the specific courses needed to graduate.
A degree at SUNY Plattsburgh has four main components; they are as follows:
- Departmental/Major Requirements
- Cognate Requirements (if any)
- General Education Requirements
- Miscellaneous Degree Hour Requirements
Your CAPP Report will show each of these sections and will have arrows next to all requirements that have been met. Courses with arrows still need to be completed. It is important to note that in order to be awarded a degree a student must complete ALL requirements in each of the four sections.
Below the miscellaneous Degree Hour Requirements, there is a section of notes for each individual major. Be sure to read this section carefully, as it has useful information.
The last page of the credit evaluation is the Transfer Credit Summary. This page shows all of the previous institutions from which you are transferring credit. Under each institution you will see a list of the courses transferred and their equivalencies at SUNY Plattsburgh. each individual major. Be sure to read this section carefully, as it has useful information.
