Season In Review - 2002
Jay Wells led the team's individuals and the squad was fifth at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional meet.
In addition to its finish at the NCAA Regional, Plattsburgh finished third at the SUNYAC Championship and ninth of 42 at the ECAC Championship.
Individually, Wells finished 64th at the NCAA Division III Championship and was second at the Atlantic Regional. He won the SUNYAC Championship, covering the 8K course in 25:57.59 to become the first Cardinal to win the SUNYAC men's title since Walter Long in 1997. He earned First Team All-Conference honors.
Paul Widjeskog earned Second Team All-Conference honors with a 14th-place finish in 27:04.44.
The team was second at the Cardinal Classic and won the Oneonta Invitational.
