What Does Strategic Planning Mean To Us?
At our first meeting, Bob Golden shared these perspectives about Strategic Planning:
- Effective Strategic Planning is limited in its priorities;
- Strategic Planning has to be tied back to the groups/individuals actually doing the work;
- Strategic Planning has to be flexible;
- Strategic Planning has to be constantly communicated;
- Strategic Planning must be changed by reality;
- Strategic Planning must be generally accepted as a broad map for the college;
- Strategic Planning should take into account the strengths and cultures of the college - it should not come as a surprise to the campus;
- and Strategic Plans should not be perfect.
