Draft Vision Statement
The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) has developed a draft vision statement that was discussed at the January Planning day. We have already received some great feedback but have not met yet to discuss any changes. So, the latest version appears below. Please note that we have not made any changes to the mission statement, but have included it below for convenient reference.
Mission Statement
Plattsburgh State University of New York prepares a diverse student population for a wide range of professional career by providing undergraduates with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, graduate students with advanced professional preparation, and all students with a commitment to academic excellence, ethical values, lifelong learning, and responsible citizenship within a global community. The University takes advantage of the natural surroundings, Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains, in selected academic programs and courses, in recreational activities and in community involvement and services.
Vision Statement
The vision of Plattsburgh State University of New York is:
"We will graduate students who will stand out in their chosen career and communities."
To achieve our vision we promise:
- You will feel welcome and comfortable.
- You will be supported - by friends, faculty, and our community.
- You will be challenged to learn, think and excel.
- You will experience a variety of cultures and perspectives.
- You will discover who you are to become who you want to be.
