Special Interest Groups

The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) has organized six special interest groups, each focusing a specific direction for strategic planning. Each sub- group will write a brief 1-2 page summary that describes what that topic should look like at SUNY Plattsburgh in the next 5-10 years. The intent here is to be both innovative and realistic. A group of "convenors" will hold open meetings for stakeholders associated with each group and for the campus at large.

The special interest groups and their convenors are as follows:

Open Forums

Stakeholders and campus community members will have at least opportunities to participate in open forums:

  1. Initial Special Interest Group Meetings. Each group will hold separate meetings. At these meetings, convenors will listen to attendees and gather input around which they will form the first draft of a report for the group in question. Copies of the report will be disseminated before the next meeting
  2. Common SPC Meeting. This will be an open meeting to discuss the drafts of the group reports and to continue overall discussion of strategic planning. In this meeting, the group or groups will also consider the coordination of the distinct sub-components and the articulation of an overall plan.
Revised drafts (if necessary) of groups reports will be disseminated before the next meeting.
  3. Second Special Interest Group Meeting. Each group will again hold separate meetings where they will discuss the most current drafts of their reports and solicit further input.

If you can't make our meeting, try using our discussion lists.

Reports

Final drafts of each report will be compiled, dissemninated, and used to form the basis of the SPC's final report (PDF - 256k).
