Books To Support Your Courses:
Send your recommendations in any format -- scribbled note, a catalog page, an email, a dog-eared publisher's advertisement. Title and ISBN are the best information to send. Send recommendations any time of year.
We can RUSH order a book and get it right to Library Reserves. We also purchase e-books.
The Library's collections support faculty teaching and student learning. Need material specifically for research purposes?Request through ILLiad

Journal Recommendations:
Check out Journals AtoZ
to see if access is available through a database. The process for acquiring a new journal title is relatively long. Purchasing a subscription to a journal involves a commitment of funds over time, so a closer review of each request is needed. Because of budget constraints, new journal titles are added sparingly.
We review new journal requests several times a year with new subscriptions beginning in January.
Digital Resources Recommendations:
We will set up a trial of the digital resource through our Trials
web page. Recommendations for digital resources that are free of charge or licensing are also welcome. Those recommendations may be incorporated into the online catalog, our Research Guides
pages or into our Electronic Reference Room

DVD/Video Recommendations/Rentals
Make your recommendations directly to Marge Stewart at stewarmk@plattsburgh.edu
in Acquisitions. Media over $100.00 needs to be previewed by you. We'll arrange for the preview, provide you with the preview form and let you know when we are able to order your recommendation. Videos under $100.00 are ordered as budget allows.
Rental arrangements are also available, but require a long lead time-about four weeks.
