Child & Family Services Collections Policies
Clientele:
The Child & Family Services collection serves the curricular needs of undergraduates and the instruction needs of faculty in the Child Family Services Program. The emphasis of the program is on learning to help individuals and families solve problems such as issues related to child development, family relations, aging, nutritional planning for individuals and families, and family financial management. The Child Care Management Option in the program prepares students for careers in management of child care facilities. There are about 4 faculty members directly involved in teaching Child Family Services. This subject area is also related to Social Work, Counseling, Nutrition, Developmental Psychology, Women's Studies, and Child Care.
Existing Collection:
The geographical focus of the collection is on U.S.-related materials, with a minor global focus. Both older (greater than ten years old) and current materials are in the collection.
Current Collecting:
We collect those English-language materials that focus on child development, family, adult development and aging. Titles selected for related subject areas listed above also support this program.
