Counseling Collections Policies
Clientele:
The Counseling collection serves the needs of graduate students pursuing degrees in Community Counseling (MS and CAS), Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education, and School Counseling (MSEd and CAS) and faculty in support of instruction. There are about 5 faculty members teaching courses in Counseling. Course content includes graduate courses in theory, research, practicum and internship opportunities. The following areas are also related to the collection: Education, Psychology, Social Work, Law, and Medicine.
Existing Collections:
Plattsburgh's Counseling collection includes both current and older (more than 10 years old) materials in English. The collection was recently examined by an accreditation team and met the requirements.
Current Collecting:
Collection continues in the areas above. Faculty recommendations and the recommendations of professional and accreditation organizations are criteria for selection.
