Mathematics Collections Policies
Clientele:
The mathematics collection serves the needs of undergraduates in the general education program, education students, majors in the Mathematics Department, and faculty in support of instruction. About 13 faculty members teach in the department. Related areas are Education (both K-6 and 7-12), Computer Science, Statistics and Art.
Existing Collections:
Plattsburgh's mathematics collection is strong in math basics and practical materials. The collection is mainly current (since 1975) and in English. Theoretical materials have not been collected. There is no geographical restriction.
Current Collecting:
We continue to collect practical materials, including reference materials, handbooks, and dictionaries. Growth areas for the collection are the social and educational applications of Math, i.e. works on what makes math "fun," accessible, or desirable.

- Wiley.
Formats:
Materials in print, including books with accompanying media, are collected. Paper is preferred over cloth.
