Clientele:
The Physics collection serves the needs of majors in the department, and faculty in support of instruction. The number of majors has been small but stable in the recent past. There are about 5 faculty members directly involved in teaching physics. The following areas are also related to the collection: Nuclear Medicine, Physics Education.
Existing Collections:
Plattsburgh's Physics collection contains mainly current, English language materials, with a geographical focus on the U.S. Both practical and theoretical materials have been collected.
Current Collecting:
We currently collect materials as described above, often by faculty recommendation.
Subjects Covered:
- LC classes QB-QC, TA-TN (except TD)
Publisher Information:
Noted publishers include:
- Springer-Verlag,
- university presses, and learned societies.
Formats:
Materials in print formats (including books with accompanying media) are collected.
Notes:
Recent reorganizations in the department may lead to some new initiatives in the future.
