Plattsburgh State Welcomes Home Alumni Oct. 20-22

12:00am EDT, 11 Oct 2006

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh campus will be "rocking around the clock" when alumni return to celebrate Homecoming 2006, Friday - Sunday, Oct. 20 - 22.

"Homecoming is a special time," said Rose Anderson, director of Alumni Affairs and a 1995 alumna. "Our alumni love reminiscing about their college days, and we love listening to their stories. It really brings out the 'Plattsburgh Spirit' in all of us."

This year's Homecoming, celebrating the theme "Rock Around the Clock," will give alumni a chance to remember the past as they explore what SUNY Plattsburgh is today.

"We are looking forward to welcoming our alumni home, and we hope everyone has a great time," said Dr. John Ettling, president of SUNY Plattsburgh.

The Alumni Affairs Office as well as many other departments on campus have been working to make this year's homecoming celebration the best yet. An array of events is lined up to "Welcome Home" long-time friends to their alma mater.

"We are all very excited about this year's homecoming. We really want to focus on remembering the past, celebrating the present and looking to the future," said Anderson. "Alumni really appreciate meeting today's students, faculty and staff. This is truly a campus-wide, indeed a community-wide, celebration. We encourage everyone to come have fun with our alums throughout the weekend."
