Student Affairs At SUNY Plattsburgh
Who We Are
The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs at Plattsburgh establishes broad goals and a vision for Student Affairs consistent with the mission of the University.
What We Do
Our overall goal is to prepare students to live, learn, and lead in an increasingly complex and interrelated world.
Department directors manage planning, policy implementation, research, and evaluation as they relate to programs and services for students. In addition, Student Affairs Administrators manage budget and personnel services, publications, communications, data analysis, and reporting.
As educators, teachers, and advocates, members of the division work closely with students in developing a community that is both stimulating and supportive where personal development and learning, about oneself and others, are central.
Part of our educational mission is to provide a balance between the acquisition of knowledge and the development of character; involvement and leadership in a community and intellectual inquiry; individual rights and freedom and responsibility; an awareness of self and opportunities to develop additional skills, abilities and interests.
