Lifespan Research Center

The Center for Intergenerational Studies and Programs (CISP) is determined to:

  1. Promote growth of human potential by fostering best practice services in the field of health and mental health in the local geographic area.
  2. Provide alternative learning opportunities for the students at SUNY Plattsburgh. Our programs are lifespan oriented and we strive to discover common cross-generational issues and projects.

Research at CISP

The Center for Intergenerational Studies and Programs is engaged in cutting edge research on a wide variety of issues related to youth, the geriatric population, and individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

CISP is a leading center with the largest depository of data regarding local health and human services in the area. By studying areas such as brain abnormality, developmental disorders, substance abuse, and social welfare of elderly and youth, we have become a Center of applied research in the area of lifespan studies.

Over the past fiscal year, the operational budget of the CISP has been estimated at $850,000 obtained through grants and contracts, fees for services, and individual contributions.
