Project Coordinator
Julie West joined the Technical Assistance Center in November 2006 as the Project Coordinator for the Adirondack-Champlain Community Broadband Network. Julie has many years of experience in IT and Telecommunications both in non-profit and for profit organizations.
Prior to coming to SUNY Plattsburgh, she was responsible for IT global contracts for Bombardier Transportation. Her work included negotiation and vendor selection of all Telecommunication services world-wide as well as contract and vendor management. Her work encompassed 30 countries and 330 sites for Bombardier. Prior to this commercial role, she was also Global Telecommunications Director for Bombardier Transportation, which included all Telecommunications global operations, supplier relations and outsourcing governance.
Julie was also Manager of Information Technology and Telecommunications at CVPH Medical Center before joining Bombardier. In this role, she managed all telecommunications and video services for the Medical Center and several physicians' offices. She also played an integral role in the implementation of teleradiology between CVPH Medical Center and Elizabethtown Hospital . She served as a representative of IT/IS as a member of capital project teams. Successful projects included the Emergency Care Center , Friedman Kidney Dialysis Center , Women's Imaging Center , Off-Site Laboratory Services, and the Observation Unit.
Before her work at CVPH, Julie was the Director of Sports Information here at SUNY Plattsburgh. She developed a full-time sports information office to support NCAA Division III Athletics on campus. She also is a SUNY Plattsburgh alum, having been awarded her Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Plattsburgh.
