Trouble Reporting Procedures

We rely on your assistance in keeping our classrooms clean and running smoothly. To that end, we ask that you follow the procedures outlined below and report any malfunctions or problems you discover.

Non-urgent problems

When you can continue your class in spite of the equipment malfunction or failure.

Take advantage of our easy to use Trouble Ticket shortcut. This shortcut is on the desktop of every teaching station in our classrooms.  Double click the shortcut to reach our database. You will be prompted to login using your NetID, then simply click the Create Ticket button in the upper right corner. Enter a brief but detailed description of the problem and technicians will contact you when it has been addressed. You may also enter a ticket from your office if you prefer by opening a browser and typing lothos.plattsburgh.edu in your address bar.

Urgent Problems

When equipment that your class depends on malfunctions or fails.

Phones are located in all of the computer and smart classrooms. If equipment failure prevents you from being able to continue your class, call x2230. The number is posted on each phone. Calling this number between 8am and 8pm will connect you to our student employees who are trained to help you troubleshoot classroom problems. These students can dispatch staff technicians (8 am to 4:30 pm) and student technicians (4:30 pm to 8 pm) to your classroom so the class can continue.
