SUNY Plattsburgh College Council
The College Council at SUNY Plattsburgh serves as an oversight and advisory body to the campus and to the president and senior administration of SUNY Plattsburgh. In accordance with New York State Education Law, the Council comprises ten members; nine who are appointed to seven-year terms by the governor of the State of New York, and one student member elected annually from among the campus' undergraduate and graduate students. The chair is appointed by the Governor.

New members have been appointed to the SUNY Plattsburgh College Council.
- Dr. Peter Sayles of Saranac Lake, N.Y., was appointed to the College Council by Governor David Paterson on Aug. 13, 2009, to replace former member Edward Lurie.
- Ms. Sydney Sue Garrant of Plattsburgh, N.Y., was named to the College Council on aug. 18, 2009, to replace former member Dr. Soham Patel. Ms. Garrant received her B.A. and M.S.ed. from SUNY Plattsburgh. MORE
