After more than four decades at the college, William D. “Bill” Laundry, SUNY Plattsburgh’s vice president of student affairs, announced his plans to retire, effective Jan. 1, 2013. President John Ettling named a search committee in November to begin the process of reviewing resumés and materials submitted, consider the qualifications of each applicant, and decide what candidates should eventually be brought to Plattsburgh for the campus community to meet in March 2013. President Ettling expect to name a new vice president in April 2013 who will then assume office sometime in mid summer.
Dr. Edward Miller, Associate Dean of Arts and Science and Distinguished Service Professor of Chemistry, is chairing the search. Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Inc., of Miramar, Fl., – an executive search firm specializing in higher education – has also been hired to assist in developing and implementing a recruitment strategy that will encourage potential candidates to apply.
