- All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
- Students may adjust their course schedules from the first day registration access is granted through the end of the priority registration period.
- Full-time status (12 credits or more) is required for athletic eligibility, health insurance, financial aid, and international students. Athletes and international students in their last semester of study are exempt from this requirement.
- Undergraduate students may register for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Students interested in registering for a credit overload may obtain the Credit Hour Overload form from the Registrar's Office (Kehoe 304) or online. Approval from the student's academic advisor and department chairperson is required.
- Permission to register for closed or restricted courses may be granted by the department chairperson only.
- A $40 late registration fee applies to registrations processed after the priority registration period.
Course Adjustment/Add Drop Notes:

- Complete your schedule to avoid late course add fees.
- All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
Waitlisting
All courses can be waitlisted with the exception of internships, practica, independent studies, and courses designed for learning communities. When a course reaches its maximum enrollment and additional students attempt to register for it, the waitlist option becomes available. Students are not automatically added to the waitlist; they must select the waitlist option on the registration system when they attempt to register for a closed course. The waitlist is built on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will not be given the option to waitlist if they have not met the course prerequisites. Students may remove themselves from waitlists at any time during the registration period. The waitlist program will run approximately four times daily. The process automatically registers the first student on the list into the course when a space opens if no registration errors exist (i.e., time conflicts, duplicate course registration, maximum credit limit exceeded, etc.) This process will also create and forward an email to the student's Plattsburgh Webmail account notifying the student that his/her registration for the course has been completed successfully. All students are encouraged to select alternate courses if they have not moved from the waitlist by the end of the course adjustment period. All waitlists are purged at the end of the course adjustment period.
