Planning for a career after college can be confusing. Don't worry, we are here to help you.
The Career Development Center (CDC) works with you to design a 4-year plan, from your first semester as a freshman to your senior year.
By listening to you and understanding your goals, the CDC staff will help you in discovering the best ways to apply your interests and market your talents.
Check out our office to explore career options, write resumes, and find out what employers are looking for. We have a variety of print and electronic resources to assist you in determining your career path.
The mission of the Career Development Center is to provide a range of services, resources, and programs to educate students and alumni in all aspects of the career development process to enhance their professional preparation and employability.
News & Events
Career Night
The 32nd Annual Plattsburgh State Career Night provides a unique opportunity for students to interact personally with a broad range of potential employers, while broadening their perspectives on career and employment options. It will be on Thursday, April 3rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Angell College Center Ballrooms.
Typically, 50 to 70 organizations attend this event. These organizations will be available to interact with students regarding career and professional information, part-time and summer employment, internship opportunities, and full-time employment. Alumni are also welcome. See the employers who are attended in 2008.
Preparing for a Career Fair
Learn the basics about attending a career or job fair. This information will apply to any job fair but participants will learn more details of Plattsburgh State's annual Career Night. Find out what to wear, what to bring, and what to say. Also, learn what types of organizations will be attending. Workshops are held in Kehoe 612.

Senior Career Resource Center
The Senior Career Resource Center is now open in Adirondack Hall Rm. 200. Computers are available to conduct job searches through targeted websites, work on resumes and cover letters, research graduate schools, and discuss your concerns about your next big move! Amy Daniels, a graduate intern, holds office hours on Monday/Tuesday, 4-9pm, and Wednesday/ Thursday, 1:30-3:30pm and 7-10pm.
As the Senior Career Resource Center is a new initiative on campus, current upper class students will play a vital part in shaping this exciting new program! Voice your suggestions! We're listening!
