On Saturday, May 13, 2017, an estimated 1,000 SUNY Plattsburgh students will begin a new phase of their lives as they receive their degrees during the 2017 Spring Commencement ceremonies, which will be held in the Field House Gymnasium. The day will bring joy, feelings of pride and even tears to those in attendance during this spring ritual.
The first ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and will be held for students majoring in programs within the School of Education, Health and Human Services and the School of Business and Economics. The second ceremony will commence at 2 p.m. for students in the School of Arts and Science.
This celebration of achievement would not be as poignant without the careful attention to the numerous details involved in planning this momentous occasion. The procedures on protocol covered here have proven to be highly effective in preserving the dignity of the proceedings over the years.
