The Hood Hall Fitness Center is approximately 1,200 square feet of exercise space. This facility provides dedicated access to students living on the Plattsburgh State campus who are paid members of the Fitness Center Program.
The Hood Hall Fitness Center is administered and managed by the Fitness Center Program within the department of Sport and Wellness. The program is an extension of the existing Fitness Center Program at Memorial Hall. Many of the same services are provided at the new facility including orientation and personal training.
The Hood Hall Fitness Center houses nine (11) cardiovascular machines including three (3) treadmills; three (3) stationary bikes; two (2) ellipticals; two (2) Arc Trainers and one (1) Concept II Rower. A Smith Machine, Bench Press and Dumbbells up to 50lbs. are included. A small stretching area is also available.
The facility has a built in sound system and two flat screen televisions.
The Hood Hall Fitness Center is staffed during all hours of operation by Fitness Center professional staff and student supervisors. No unsupervised use of facility is permitted. Access to the facility is electronically controlled. Student members living on campus must carry their student ID to gain entrance to the center. Members are not be allowed to provide access to non-members.
