Antibiotic Medications
The Center for Student Health & Psychological Services has the following antibiotic medications prescribed as needed:
- penicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, doxycycline, Macrobid, sulfa preparations, eye drops, ear drops, antibiotic ointment, and Cipro, Keflex.
Note: Prescriptions from external physicians cannot be filled at the Center. In addition, medications are provided for acute illness only. Medications for chronic illness are not available (i.e. inhalers, insulin, Dilantin, etc.), however, prescriptions are written when applicable.
Diagnostic Tests
The following diagnostic tests are available at the Center:
- throat culture, rapid strep, mono spot, CBC, urinalysis, urine culture, GC screening, KOH smear, pregnancy tests, HIV screenings, tuberculosis testing, blood glucose screening, and saline wet mounts.
Equipment
Includes:
- crutches (students will incur charges for equipment that is not returned).
Note: The Center will loan equipment such as crutches to students who are in need.
Other Medications
Other medications provided during routine visits to the Center may include:
- non-narcotic cough medications, over-the-counter cold medications, ibuprofen, Tylenol, antihistamines, antiparasitic, antispasmodics/antiemetics, antidiarrheal medications, and dermatological medications.

Outpatient Health Care
Includes:
- consultation, examinations, evaluations.
Procedures
The following are procedures medical providers perform during visits to the Center:
- dressing changes, ear irrigation, suturing and suture removal, hearing/vision testing, corneal staining, and cryotherapy for warts.
