Directions to Freshman Orientation

If you need help finding your way around campus, take a look at our campus maps.

From the Northway (Interstate 87)

  1. Take Exit 37 and turn right (East) onto Cornelia Street (Route 3).
  2. Stay in the right lane and continue until you reach the Y-intersection of Cornelia and Broad Street (Burger King is on your right).
  3. Bear right down Broad Street and take the 5th right (Draper Avenue).
  4. Look for the parking lot immediately to your left after you make a sharp right turn onto Park Avenue.
  5. We will have signs posted for your convenience.
  6. Follow the Orientation signs to Whiteface Hall(student building) and Banks Hall (family building) for check-in.

From the West (Route 3)

  • Continue East on Route 3.
  • Stay in the right lane and continue East until you reach the Y-intersection of Cornelia and Broad Streets (Burger King is on your right).
  • Bear right down Broad Street and take the 5th right (Draper Avenue).
  • Look for the parking lot immediately to your left after you make a sharp right turn onto Park Avenue.
  • We will have signs posted for your convenience.
  • Once you reach Park Avenue, follow the signs into the parking lot.
  • Follow the Orientation signs to Whiteface Hall (student building) and Banks Hall (family building) for check-in.

From Vermont (East)

  1. Take the Grand Isle Ferry from Vermont to Plattsburgh (Cumberland Head).
  2. Follow Route 374 to the traffic light at Route 9. Go straight following signs to I-87 South.
  3. Follow directions listed above under "From the Northway."

GPS Addresses

  • Banks and Whiteface Hall: plug in 39 Sanborn Ave.
  • Angell College Center: plug in 46 Rugar St.

Travelling By Bus/Train?

If you need to come by bus or train, please contact one of the following to make your reservations:

When making your reservations, please plan on booking yourself on the train that will arrive at 3:15pm or the bus that will arrive at 3:05pm.  We are aware that the arrival of the bus/train coincides with check-in, but we will certainly accommodate you.

To receive a complimentary shuttle ride from the Plattsburgh bus/train station or the Plattsburgh Airport to campus between the hours of 1p.m. and 4p.m. on the day of your session's check-in, please call our office at (518) 564-3282 or email us at orientation@plattsburgh.edu.

We will keep in contact with the bus and train station and will know if there will be a delay. As such, if your bus or train is running late, rest assured that as long as you have pre-arranged a shuttle ride with us, we will be there to pick you up when you arrive.
