Laptop Program for Faculty and Staff
Choosing the Right Computer for Your Needs
As part of the campus Computer Replacement Program, Library and Information Services (LIS) will be offering eligible faculty and staff a choice between a desktop computer and a laptop computer. This offer is made possible because of a significant reduction in laptop costs.
Each faculty member should carefully consider whether he/she would be better served by a desktop or a laptop. Things one might consider are...
- need/comfort with respect to mobility (office, classroom, travel),
- screen size, sensitivity of data with which one works, and
- exposure to risk of theft or other loss.
